Our Mission:
The Rhode Island Alliance For Clean Energy is a nonprofit environmental organization dedicated to promoting real clean energy solutions such as solar, small wind applications, LED lighting, geothermal technology, compact fluorescent lighting, energy conservation. Through our extensive research we see great flaws in the Governor Carcieri’s large wind farm plans and believe it will harm our State, and especially the local communities which they are constructed near, environmentally, economically and will impact the health of citizens who live within a 3 mile radius from these facilities. Through our research we have found countless other ways, which are far less costly and provide greater and more cost effective results for our citizens. The different alternative sources of energy which we have outlined on this website will help to reduce carbon emissions, save the environment and give each of our citizens real energy independence.
The President’s Message:
My fellow citizens,
There is an old Native American Proverb that says “we do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children.” Today as we dive into the crisis of global warming and sky rocketing energy and gas prices we strive to find real energy independence for each one of our citizens that lives in our beautiful serene State and our Nation. We can do this extremely successfully without disturbing our neighbors or causing economic and environmental turmoil in the process.
We live in one of the most precious and spectacular States in America. Our untouched landscape and our heritage are at stake. I, along with the rest of this organization believe that the Governor is heading down the wrong path and it is truly a dangerous path for our State. We are not against wind power. We would like to see small wind utilized on homes and business through out the State. This kind of wind power gives you true energy independence. This is the kind of energy that makes your meter go backwards just like solar, which we also endorse, along with many other forms of alternative energy which are discussed on this site. Large wind power does not do this. Your meter will not go backwards. You do not have control over your energy, a multibillion dollar corporation does. Most multibillion dollar large wind power corporations are owned by even larger multibillion dollar oil and fossil fuel corporations. They use large wind as a tax write off and can usually write off these multimillion dollar projects within 5 to 7 years after the project is completed. We the taxpayers end up footing the bill because we pay for the subsidies to these multibillion dollar corporations and then we pay for it again in our energy bills.
The Rhode Island Alliance for Clean Energy has uncovered troubling scientific reports, and talked to countless citizens, experts and scientists across this nation and worldwide, that have been effected. We have heard their stories, all of this information is outlined on this site. Information that could potentially put our citizens at risk from large wind turbines.
There are an enormous amount of different ways we can all be green, save the environment, put more money in our pockets, preserve our scenic coastlines, and have absolutely no environmental impacts what so ever and be completely free and totally energy independent from any multibillion dollar energy corporation both foreign and domestic!
